Day 2 - Wednesday Afternoon

Our lunch today was tacos!  Yum!  After lunch we played a water balloon game on the valleyball court.  The kids had fun launching balloons over the net and getting hit with balloons. 

After the game we packed up for the river.  The water was nice and cool.  The kids swam, floated on tubes, hunted for crawdads, and worked on their boondoggle (lanyards). 

Now we’re back from the river and having some free time before dinner.  The snack shack is open and the kids can spend the coins they’ve been earning!

Day 2 - Wednesday Morning

Our day is going great!  We had breakfast (scrambled, eggs, sausage, fruit, & cereal) and then headed over to our big group time.  We had a great teaching from Paul and our beach scene/backdrop is starting to take shape.  The kids have also started memorizing verses to earn tokens.  They can also earn tokens by doing an act of kindness or finding one of the tiny sharks hidden throughout the camp.  Here are some pictures from our morning:

Day 1 - Tuesday Evening

Dinner was great!  We had homemade pizza and salad.  Here are some pictures of the kids lining up with their cabins before dinner:

 

After dinner we got our camp shirts and had our first session.  We had worship led by Zach and Abby and learned our two new camp songs.  Our first teaching was on how God Created Everyone and Everything.  We talked about the ocean and as a group project we helped make an art project of the beach back drop.   Some kids painted, some added sand.  Then we had some of the cabins do their camp cheer!

After our large group time, we had small group time with our cabins to get to know each other better.  Then we met at the campfire for Counselor Hide And Seek.   Out of the 13 counselors who were hiding, the kids only found half. 

After a story around the campfire, it was off to bed…

We Made It!

We’re here at Hartstone and having a great time! The ride up was smooth and although it’s pretty hot, the kids having been having fun figuring out the lay of the land.  We had PB&J sandwiches for lunch and then we got to celebrate Lucas’ birthday with singing and delicious cookies! (Thanks for sending those Mom!)

After lunch, the kids got settled in their cabins and worked on their cabin name and cabin cheer.  Each cabin is a different neon color.  We have a Lifeguard theme going this week, in sort of a Baywatch 90’s kind of vibe.

From now until the dinner the kids have been playing on the swings, playing gutter ball, shuffleboard, corn hole, volleyball, and more! Here are a few pictures from the activities:

One More Sleep...

We're just hours away from the start of this year's camp!  In talking to some of the kids on Sunday, I know how excited they are to be coming!  We've been praying and are continuing to pray for a blessed week, full of fun, new experiences, and new friendships.

Big News! Kids Camp will now be open to Third Graders

Big News happening for Kids Camp!  It's been a few years since we've allowed incoming third graders to go to Kids Camp.  We're excited to announce that third graders can come this year! Yippee!!
