Day Four - Mid Morning

We are heading home!  Please meet us at the church at 1:00.

Day Four - Morning

Well it's our last day here at camp.  The kids are packing up their gear and cleaning up their cabins.    After breakfast we'll have our final chapel time, do some more cleaning, and then hit the road.  I will try to post one final blog to give you a more accurate time of when to be at the church to meet the bus.

I've enjoyed documenting this whole camp experience and I hope you enjoyed reading about and seeing pictures of what your kids have been up to at camp.

Blessings!

~Jeannine

Day Three - Evening

It’s hard to believe it’s already the last night of camp.  The kids had a great night tonight!  After dinner we had chapel time which started with two counselor skits.  For the first skit, the counselors did “The Twelve Days of Camp.”

For the second skit, some of the guy counselors did “Four Bucktoothed Buzzards.”  The kids thought it was really funny.

Then we had worship lead by Johnny.

The final teaching by Paul wrapped up all we’ve been learning this week about Faith.

After cabin devotions, we had s’mores and hot chocolate, followed by a night game called “Gestapo.” In Gestapo, the object of the game is for all the kids to get to appointed location without being spotted by a giant flood light.  If they get spotted, they have to go back to the beginning and start again.  If they make it, they get a prize.    Many of the kids wore black and tried to camouflage themselves to avoid detection.

Day Three - Afternoon

The weather has been awesome this afternoon!  Just perfect for an excursion to the river.  There was plenty to do there including playing in the water, squirt gun fights, tubing down the river, and boondoggling (making lanyards and bracelets).  Here are some fun pictures from this afternoon.

Day Three - Morning

After breakfast today we met outside in the amphitheater.  Today the sun is out and it’s promising to warm up!  First we had some worship time with Johnny…

Including the silly song “Father Abraham.”

And what’s this?  It’s Distraction!  He was sleeping under the tarp in the amphitheater all night!

It looks like Distraction’s heart is finally starting to soften.

Our teaching this morning was given by Mike.  He taught us from John 14 on the Super Power of the Holy Spirit.

Now the kids are off for Cabin Time discussions with their counselors.   Then we’ll have lunch and this afternoon we’re heading for the river!  Stay tuned!

Day Two - Late Evening

Day Two – Late Evening
After our teaching time the kids enjoyed a nice campfire complete with Rice Krispie Treats and Hot Chocolate!

And then as the night got completely dark, the everyone got ready for a game of “Counselor Hide-and-Seek.”  In this game all the counselors hide in really hard spots and the kids have to find them.  Out of all the counselors pictured here only about six were found.   I’d say that’s a definite win for the counselors!

Day Two - Evening

After dinner we gathered for our large group time and we met someone new.  This is the mild-mannered Tim.

And who should interrupt Tim's teaching but none other than Distraction…

And his minions.

But wait a minute… Who’s this?  Why it’s Bible Thumper Guy!!  Hurray!

Oh no!  Distraction has stolen Bible Thumper Guy’s Book of Truth and hidden the pages around the camp.  It is up to all the kids to find the hidden truths.  Here are some of the kids coming back from finding their pages.
