Day 2 - Tuesday Afternoon

Right before lunch we got to play Water Balloon Battleship.  It’s just like the board game Battleship, but the kids were the ships and the counselors launched water balloons over the volleyball net, which had been covered with a tarp so they couldn’t see where their targets were. The kids got muddy, sandy, and wet.  But it was so much fun! For lunch we had tacos with watermelon and churros.

After lunch we finished the play-offs for Battleship and then we had free time with a giant slip-n-slide and the opportunity to shoot arrows at the archery spot.

At this point it was starting to get hot so we headed down to the river to cool off for a while.

When we came back from the river we got to spend the coins we've been earning at the snack shack.

Day 2 - Tuesday Morning

This morning we had pancakes, sausage, and melon for breakfast.  Then we had our large group time with worship and teaching.  The teaching was from Matthew 13:44-46, which is the Parable of Hidden Treasure.  It’s the one about the man who sold everything he had to buy a field that he knew had treasure on it.  We talked about two views on this passage, one being that God is the man and we are the treasure that was bought with great sacrifice (God’s son Jesus) and the second view being that we are the man and God is the treasure.

After the teaching we had cabin time again to discuss what that means for us and our relationship with God.   After that we are getting ready for a fun game to keep us cool.  More to come!

Day 1- Monday Evening

After our free time we had our first meal here at camp.   It was homemade pizza, salad, and watermelon.

After dinner we had our first large group session.  Each cabin did their cabin cheer and then the kids got to hear about the theme for camp which is “TREASURE.” Zach lead us in a time of singing and worship and then Paul taught on Matthew 6:13, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” After the big teaching time, each cabin had small group time to talk about the key verse and to share what we think the treasures are in our life.

After small group time, we played capture the flag until it got dark enough to play our night game, Counselor Hide-and-Seek.   All the counselors hid and the kids had to find them.  The found six, but three counselors remained undetected, one of whom was wearing a black morph suit and blended in very well with his surroundings.
We got to spend a little bit of time around the campfire before bed.
