A video from Camp

This is a little taste of what worship was like at Kids Camp 2016 - Jesus Our Rescue!

We're Home!

Another year is in the books! Praise God for a wonderful week!

Here are some pictures of each cabin that I took right before we loaded up the vans to go home. We had three campers and a junior counselor leave at breakfast time, so they're not in the pictures.

We'll see you all tomorrow at 8:30 at CCP!  Also, we have a table for Lost & Found in the back Children's Ministry Hallway.

Day 4 - Friday Morning

We are packing up the cabins and cleaning up the camp.  We’ll be on the road shortly.  Your kids will most likely come home dirty, tired, and ready for lunch.  Hopefully they can have a restful day or two to recharge. Let them tell you all about camp and maybe later, show them this blog and let them tell you more about what they did.

We plan to be back at the church at 1:00.

Remember – Sunday morning we are singing in front of the church.  Please have your kids in the sanctuary at 8:30am.  If they can stay to do it again for the 11:00 service, they should be done by 11:30.  We understand some kids are headed out of town, but we’d love to have any kids that can make it!  Also, make sure they were their camp shirt.

See you soon!

Day 3 - Thursday Late Evening

After our teaching time and small group cabin time, we got to make s’mores at the campfire and roast marshmallows.  Then it was time for our most anticipated activity of camp, a night game called Typhoon (formerly Gestapo).  The object of the game is for the kids to get to a certain cabin (The Yurt) without being spotted, where they will receive a prize.  It’s very hard to get there without being drenched by a counselor or spotted with a high powered spot light.  After multiple attempts, the kids finally made it and got to get a prize.  Here are some pictures from the campfire:

Day 3 - Thursday Early Evening

When we came back from the river we had some free time, followed by dinner.  For dinner we had BBQ chicken, mashed potatoes, salad, corn on the cob, and garlic biscuits.  After dinner we headed to Victory Circle for our evening session.  We enjoyed a lot of fun singing! Our teaching from Paul was “We Reach Out.”  This was our final teaching of the series, which took us through an entire gospel presentation:

  •   God is the Creator of Everyone and Everything
  • We Sin
  •  God Provides
  • Jesus Rescues
  • We Reach Out

The kids had an opportunity to reach out for a lifesafer candy, as on demonstration of how God has offered us the gift of salvation, and we must reach out to receive it.

Here are some pictures from our large group time tonight:

Day 3 - Thursday Afternoon

After lunch we headed to the river for some cooling off.   Here are some pictures from today’s trip to the river:

Day 3 - Thursday Morning

This morning before breakfast was a great time to enjoy the swing:

We started our morning session with some fun songs and continued to work on our camp songs, which we’ll be leading for the church on Sunday at the 9:00 and 11:00 Services.  We added some hand motions today. Here are some pictures from our morning session:

Our teaching this morning emphasized that Jesus Rescues and He is MY Rescue. -That all the struggles we have and sin in our life, Jesus rescues us from that, like a lifeguard rescues someone who’s drowning. After the teaching, the kids wrote down on post-it notes a few things they are struggling with right now; sins in their lives.  Then they got to come down and put them on the cross and be given a name tag that says “JESUS MY RESCUE,” so that they can know that they’re their hope is in Christ, who rescues us!  The last pictures show the cross filled up with all the post-its.
