Day 4

This morning consisted of eating, packing, and cleaning.  We did have a litte bit of time to share what we learned this week and what the kids are most looking forward to doing when they get home.  Most of them said they couldn't wait to get back to their bed, their dog, or their video games.

Please join us on Sunday morning as the kids will be singing some of the songs they learned at camp.  The kids should come in their clean camp shirts.  Please have them here at 8:45 in the Sanctuary.  Also, we would like them to stay long enough to do the songs again at the beginning of the 11:00 service.

Day 3 Evening - Gestapo

Finally, the night the kids have been anticipating all week was finally here!  We played Gestapo.  While we waited for it to get dark, we roasted marshmallows.  As you can see, some of the kids put on face paint to make themselves more stealth.  The object of Gestapo is to get to the designated spot without being spotted by the spot light. It took a long time for kids to finally make it without being spotted.  Each kid that made it there, got tokens as their prize which they were able to use at the snack bar before we left on Friday morning.

Here are a bunch of pictures from our last night at camp:

Day 3 Afternoon

For lunch we had hamburgers.  Then after lunch, the kids spent intense time designing and building boats out of cardboard.

After building the boats, we took them down the river to compete.  The cabins had to choose one member of their team to sail in their boat.  They also had to make and anchor and make sure it could keep the boat secure.  There were awards for the most sea-worthy, best design, and best effort.  Everyone got a prize!

Tonight after dinner will be playing Gestapo.  The kids are so excited!
Since I have to drive 30 minutes to Starbucks to post to the Blog, I will be unable to post updates from tonight and tomorrow morning until after camp is over.  You can check in on the blog when your kids get home and they can tell you more about what they were doing.
We plan to be at the church tomorrow between 1:00 and 1:30.  You can call the church office for a more accurate time after 12:00.
Blessings!

Day Three - Morning

This morning we had make-your-own breakfast burritos.  Also it was one Brady's birthday, so we made sure to sing him “Happy Birthday.”  After we ate, we had a "best morning hair" contest.
Waiting in line for breakfast.

This cabin left their team flag in the meeting area last night and had to wear grace skirts to breakfast as punishment

Birthday boy!

Morning hair.

Day 2 Evening

After the river the kids had a little bit of free time.  The snack shack was open and the kids could use the tokens they’ve been earning to buy things.  Ice cream was a popular choice.  The kids have been earning tokens by memorizing verses.  Some kids also did archery, shuffleboard, or gutter ball.

Dinner was chicken, rice, and salad.  After dinner we had another great teaching by Paul, followed by small group cabin time.   Our big event for the evening was watching the movie Chipwrecked, projected on the wall of the gym.
