Day 4: Friday Morning

This morning we are busy packing up and cleaning our cabins. We are heading home soon and we plan to be back at the church at 1:00. I will post more pictures after camp, so keep checking the blog over the next few days. I’m sure your kids will love to tell you stories of what they did at camp and hopefully the pictures will be a starting point for that. Don’t forget Sunday we’ll be singing in front of the church at Calvary. Please have your child wear their clean camp shirts and be there at 8:30. If they can stay to sing for the 11:00 service also, that would be great. They should be done by 11:35 or so.

Day 3: Thursday Evening Part 3

After the teaching, we got to roast marshmallows and make s’mores. Then the kids played Gestapo. The object of the game is to get to a certain cabin without being seen, or squirted with a squirt gun. After about 30 minutes of trying, some kids finally made it and got a prize. Most of the kids eventually got a prize. We had a late night, but now they are finally asleep.

Day 3: Thursday Evening Part 2

After dinner we got to have special music lead by Zach on the guitar, Aaron on the drums, and Noah on the bass. Then Paul gave a teaching. Here are some pictures of the kids during the evening session.

Day 3: Thursday Evening Part 1

Well, I was able to make back to camp right before dinner tonight.   During free time this afternoon, the kids got to try out the rock wall.

There was also fishing in the pond.

Later this afternoon they made slime and played a crazy game involving water and slime.

For dinner we had pasta and chicken with alfredo sauce, Caesar salad, and bread.

Day 3: Afternoon update

Hi Everyone! Just a quick note to let you know what the kids are up to today. Right about now, they should be in the middle of a fun afternoon! We rented a rock climbing wall similar to the one in the picture below .  Three kids can climb at a time.  Rock climbing fits in with our camp theme about how God "set my feet on the rock and gave me a firm foundation."

Tonight we are having a special worship team lead our music after dinner and we'll have another teaching.  After that is the much anticipated night game called Gestapo.  The kids are always supper stoked to play this game where they have to get up a hill to certain place with out being spotted by the spot light.  We have crazy sound effects, sometimes water balloons are thrown.  Sometimes bonobo monkeys have been seen...

I'll be up at camp tonight to hopefully post some more pictures.  My son Evan is doing great with his broken wrist. Thanks for all your prayers!

Day 2: A Busy Day!!

Hello all, I first want to appologize and ask for prayer. I want to appologize for the late post and ask for prayer for Evan T. He took a good tumble this morning and broke his arm. Jeannine has been with him all day, which is why I am now attempting to post in her absence. Other than Evan's accident,it was a great day. We started the day with breakfast and a lesson. We then had some free time before lunch. After lunch we went down to the river for a great day on the water. We wrapped up the day with another lesson and movie night. We are all having a ton of fun and we will try to update soon. I also appologize for no pictures, I couldn't get them to upload. Hopefully we will get some up tomorrow.

Day 1: Dinner

Our dinner tonight was home made pizza, salad, and watermelon. Here are some pictures of the kids lining up before dinner.

Sorry for the absence of posts today!

Hi Everyone! Sorry for the absence of posts today. This morning before breakfast, my son Evan got knocked off a small hay bale pyramid at camp and landed on his wrist. So off we went to the hospital in Ukiah. Sure enough it was broken and later we had to get transferred via ambulance to Kaiser Santa Rosa because we have Kaiser insurance. So at Kaiser they reset the bones and gave him a temporary splint cast and he'll get the real one next week. We finally got home to Petaluma at 7:00 tonight and he's feeling much better. All that to say, I left my camera up at camp so they can take pictures, but I probably won't be able to post pictures until later. However, I have been in contact with the camp and everyone is doing great. Today after lunch the kids got to go down to the river. The water level is really low, so there wasn't a lot of swimming, but they did get to cool off and play in the water, skip rocks, and look for crawdads. Tonight they're having another session, focusing on the camp verse, Psalms 40:2. Tonight they'll be having a movie night, watching the brand new Lego Movie! That is assuming they can get all the equipment set up. Did I mention I'm also in charge of setting up the equipment for movie night? Oops. I'm hoping they figured it out, otherwise, they'll just have another fun night game! Last night we played a game called Wells Fargo, that was similar to capture the flag, but all the kids had landscaping ribbon taped on their backs. They had to try to get ping pong balls from the other team's bucket without getting their ribbon ripped off. We played several rounds of that. So, keep Evan in your prayers. He's doing much better now. I'm not sure if I'll be able to post again before the end of camp, but feel free to check in just in case. Worst case scenario, I will post the pictures after I get my camera on Friday. Blessings! ~Jeannine
