Camp was awesome!

Camp was amazing!! Thanks so much for entrusting your kiddos to us this week!  You have incredible, thoughtful, fun kids and we loved every minute of it!

There are a few things on a Lost and Found table in the lobby at CCP.  Please check the table to see if any items belong to your kids when you come on Sunday.  Also, if you come across any items when unpacking which do not belong to your kid, please add it to the Lost and Found table on Sunday or bring it by the office during the week.  We're on the look out for a Mountain Hardware stuff bag that didn't make it home with the sleeping bag.

Remember on Sunday to have your kids there at 8:45 in their clean camp shirt to sing some camp songs in front of the church.  After singing, they'll go to their class during first service.  If they can stay to sing again in the 11:00 service, that would be great.  Then they can leave right after singing, around 11:30.

Here are some pictures I took this morning of each cabin.

Day 4 - Thursday Morning - Heading Home Soon

Good morning! It's nice and cool here this morning as we pack up and get ready to leave.  We expect to back at the church between 12:30 and 1:00.  I will call the church once we get on the road.

Don't forget to have the kids at the church on Sunday at 8:30 in their camp shirt.  We'll be doing a few songs from camp for the whole church.  If your kids can stay until after we sing during the 11:00 service that would be great.  They would be done around 11:30.

Day 3 - Wednesday Evening

When we got back from the river we had free time followed by a dinner of BBQ chicken, twice-baked potatoes, salad, and biscuits.  Then we got together for our final large group teaching time where we had worship time and Paul summarized what we’ve been discussing all week.  After our teaching each cabin had time together for discussion as a small group.

We had a little bit of evening free time before having s’mores around the campfire and then finally, when it was dark, the game the kids have been waiting for all week.  We call it Gestapo or Gazpacho or Gustavo.  Anything that sounds similar to that will work.  The kids have to get to a certain place (the yurt) without being spotted.  There are a lot of obstacles in their way such as squirt guns, water balloons, and air horns.  If they make it to the stairs of the yurt, they get a prize.  Everyone was a really good sport and it took many tries for the kids to make it.

Day 3 - Wednesday Morning and Afternoon

Breakfast today was egg, sausage, and cheese English muffins with strawberries.  Then we had our large group time with worship and teaching by Zach on how we can store up treasure in heaven.

After that the kids got to do a treasure hunt with clues that lead them all over the camp to find a buried treasure full of candy and prizes.

Lunch was hamburgers and then we headed to the river to cool off.  At the river we do lots of splashing, tubing, crawdad catching, and squirt gun battles.

Day 2 - Tuesday Evening

Tonight’s dinner was teriyaki chicken.  We had a great large group time tonight and learned the new camp theme song, “Treasure,” by Seeds Family Worship.  After Paul’s teaching we had small group time with our cabins and then got to play outside as it was getting dark and cooler.  Some played soccer, others rode the swings.

Tonight was our movie night.  All the kids watched a movie that was in keeping with our treasure theme, Alvin and the Chipmunks Chipwrecked.  After the movie, we all went to bed.  The kids were plenty tired and had no trouble falling asleep tonight.
